Resumen
Este artículo es un resumen de la tesis doctoral desarrolla sobre la situación de las IDE con respecto a la tercera dimensión, abordando líneas de investigación a futuro y analizando necesidades y debilidades que presentan.
El análisis de encuestas y entrevistas realizadas con especialistas prestigiosos en este campo ponen de manifiesto la necesidad de promover la investigación y el desarrollo tecnológico en el ámbito de las IDE 3D y de los servicios que deben acompañar a las mismas. Finalmente, se definen los elementos necesarios para poder implementar una IDE tridimensional, teniendo en cuenta todos los parámetros de desarrollo, tanto técnicos como legales, necesarios para cumplir con los actuales marcos tecnológicos, normativos, jerárquicos y legales.
A través del trabajo desarrollado, se pone de manifiesto la existencia de una gran cantidad de iniciativas, que con carácter experimental han surgido para solucionar las carencias en lo relativo a la gestión y publicación de IG tridimensional. Se ha constatado que, por lo general, la adaptación de la tercera dimensión por parte de las IDE está en fase germinal, con muchas posibilidades de avance y aporte de contribuciones científicas y tecnológicas.
Este documento intenta ser una de esas contribuciones.

Abstract
This article is a summary of the doctoral thesis developed on the situation of SDI with respect to the third dimension, addressing future research lines and analyzing their needs and weaknesses.
The analysis of surveys and interviews with prestigious specialists in this field show the need to promote research and technological development in the field of 3D SDI and the services that should accompany them. Finally, the necessary elements are defined to be able to implement a three-dimensional SDI, taking into account all the development parameters, both technical and legal, necessary to comply with the current technological, regulatory, hierarchical and legal frameworks.
Through the work developed, the existence of a large number of initiatives is shown, which on an experimental basis have emerged to solve the shortcomings in the management and publication of three-dimensional IG. It has been found that, in general, the adaptation of the third dimension by the IDE is in the germinal phase, with many possibilities of advancement and scientific and technological contributions.
This article tries to be one of those contributions.
